September 8 – Boarding the AmaKristina

We slept in a bit and decided to skip breakfast.  We spent the morning finishing packing and Mary worked on trying to catch up a bit on photos and the blog.

Checkout was at noon, so we got checked out, left our luggage at the hotel and went in search of lunch.

We opted for yet another restaurant in the square by our hotel.  Biggest difference today its that they were setting up for the start of a bicycle race in the square.  There were probably about 50 cyclists.  Plus, they had a lead car and a photo crew on a motorcycle.

So, of course we decided we need a few photos.  It didn’t take long for the crowd of cyclists to head out and we went back to our now cooling lunch.

After lunch the hotel got us a taxi and we were at the AmaKristina by about 1:30. We were too early to get into our room so spent some time in the lounge visiting with a few other passengers.

The room is on the first level of rooms, so we only have portholes for outdoor access and not a slider with balcony.  It is a bit small but perfectly adequate for our needs as we don’t expect to spend a lot of time in the room except to sleep.

At dinner we ate with Bob and Robin from Sydney, Australia.  A very fun couple.
