The tour had nothing scheduled for today so we spent the morning working on photos. At lunch time we headed out with Tara to the Viktualien Market.
This permanent market had lots of produce and meat stands, flower shops, and a few souvenir shops.
There were also a few restaurants with outdoor/tented seating. We felt it was too cold to eat outside so headed down to Marienplatz where we found a restaurant serving Eastern Mediterranean food…falafels and hallumi…favorites of ours. So we all got wraps and ate at their upstairs dining room.
Claus joined us and we headed over to the Beluga Chocolatier
for their famous hot chocolate. We got a
cup of hot milk and a large chunk of chocolate on a wooden spoon. We had to make our own hot chocolate by
stirring the stirring the chocolate in the milk until it melted. It was better than the average hot chocolate
but not all that remarkable.
In the evening we headed out again with Tara and Claus to a large restaurant he recommended. Mary had the wiener schnitzel. Very good.
